Super Bowl follow up Monday

Halftime with the performance by Bruno Mars was outstanding, the staging, lights, how he interacted with the audience and the amazing finale with The Red Hot chili Peppers. I think we all agree that it was an intense and freezing game last Sunday at the Super Bowl, but for the Seattle Seahawks fans it was an great night of celebration and victory. The commercials were very entertaining, Revolt was one of my favorites, which one was yours?

Are you ready for Superbowl Sunday 2014?

Ever since I moved to California, about 12 years ago, I have enjoyed Superbowl Sunday get togethers. I have to be honest, I still don’t understand much about the game. I’m a foodie, so I’m in for the great food to share. For me, it is a great excuse to get family and friends together, share great finger foods, drinks, cheer the favorite team to the best and enjoy the half time show.

I want to share these easy to prepare dishes of some non-traditional Super Bowl finger foods. This is my spin on fun Super Bowl fare and I think it will be a touchdown for your guests!


Who doesn’t like seafood? I mean, come on, with Seattle in the game, I’m thinking of the world famous fish market. My crab stuffed button mushrooms, are both creamy and crunchy with one bite. The polenta shrimp with warm bruschetta makes the extra point.


Seattle makes me think of fish, but Denver is meat country. For the hearty football fans, my meatball subs with carrot slaw, will definitely get them to first down. The mini pesto mac and cheese and turkey slider cups will round out the offensive lineup.

Halftime is always best when it is light, fun, but still packs a punch. Keep snacking with my homemade hummus dip with olive tapenade and pair it with a savory and spicy Bloody Mary.

Drinks anyone?

Indulge your sweet tooth at the end of the game. You deserve it. Dive into chocolate covered strawberries decorated as footballs. At this party, everyone wins!
