Styling Ideas for your Bed

Last week I wrote about some of my favorite bedding picks for your little ones. In keeping with the theme of bedding, I thought a post on styling beds would be interesting.

We’ve all seen the days of big bag 7 and 9 piece bedding and comforter sets on sale and beds decked with matchy matchy pillows and bedding that screams store catalog! And I’m sure you’ve seen enough matchy matchy crib bedding sets too!

To me matchy bedding and sets are a beautiful personal space’s biggest nightmare! They take away the element of personal and box you in a category of colors and prints leaving you with a bed that looks right out of a catalog.

But how do you achieve that mixed but not matched, eclectic and cozy but not crazy, comfortable and dreamy but not bland look for your bed?
Here are my top styling tips for creating a bed that’s not only comfortable and cozy but is reflective of your personal style. {…}

How to find the perfect wedding dress for your body shape?

body shape

Every bride wants that astonishing dress so when her guests turn and see her it’s breathtaking. What most brides’ biggest mistake is not educating themselves about what type of dress best matches their shape. This will help give you that “WOW” factor that every bride wants.

The hour glass shape is where your hips and shoulders are similar in size with a narrow waist. Some dress types that would best demonstrate this shape is the mermaid or trumpet, with its curvy fit and flare that will best feature the hour glass shape in all the right places.

The triangle or pear shape is where your hips are wider than your shoulders. The most popular dress for the apple figure is the A-line. A fitted bodice with a skirt that flows away from the body best displays the figures strength.

The inverted triangle or apple shape is where your shoulders are wider than your hips. Even thought the Ball gown and the Mermaid are great style of dresses for this body shape I would suggest going short. This will help balance the top half by drawing attention to the legs, so great pair of heels is a must.

The rectangle is where your shoulders, waist and hips are similar in size. With this shape you have to create the shape you’re looking for. The Empire has a high waist bodice that can hug the right place on your body and with the gently flowing line to create the illusion of height and also hides the hips.

MLC team 4th of July… simple and fun!

This past Friday, 4th of July 2014, marked the 238th year of the Independence of the United Stated of America. All around the country, it was a big day of celebration.   From parades, beach day, poolside or grilling, which I’m sure it was the perfect time to get together with family and friends.  But my favorite part is to see when the sky lights up with the beautiful display of fireworks shows, what an amazing way to celebrate our country’s birthday.

The MLC team got together to celebrate America’s birthday with B.B.Q. and fireworks show, but we couldn’t help ourselves in making a fun backdrop to our meal. We used a blue cardboard decorated with foil stars and a 4th of July banner.  Also added some red, white and blue tissue tassels.
