Are you ready for Superbowl Sunday 2014?

Ever since I moved to California, about 12 years ago, I have enjoyed Superbowl Sunday get togethers. I have to be honest, I still don’t understand much about the game. I’m a foodie, so I’m in for the great food to share. For me, it is a great excuse to get family and friends together, share great finger foods, drinks, cheer the favorite team to the best and enjoy the half time show.

I want to share these easy to prepare dishes of some non-traditional Super Bowl finger foods. This is my spin on fun Super Bowl fare and I think it will be a touchdown for your guests!

Who doesn’t like seafood? I mean, come on, with Seattle in the game, I’m thinking of the world famous fish market. My crab stuffed button mushrooms, are both creamy and crunchy with one bite. The polenta shrimp with warm bruschetta makes the extra point.

Seattle makes me think of fish, but Denver is meat country. For the hearty football fans, my meatball subs with carrot slaw, will definitely get them to first down. The mini pesto mac and cheese and turkey slider cups will round out the offensive lineup.

Halftime is always best when it is light, fun, but still packs a punch. Keep snacking with my homemade hummus dip with olive tapenade and pair it with a savory and spicy Bloody Mary.

Drinks anyone?

Indulge your sweet tooth at the end of the game. You deserve it. Dive into chocolate covered strawberries decorated as footballs. At this party, everyone wins!

Keep it simple: Dish on a pinch.
Happy eatings!

Menu Monday: Easy and delicious party appetizers.

Today, I would like to share a few of my favorites recipes for appetizers.

Puff pastry cups with mushrooms and Brie

 The appetizers are what get the party started and get people excited about the next course. By any means, I’m not suggesting a lot of work or a long time in the kitchen. I have two kids and I have learned that never is the perfect time to solely cook and prepare delicious food, because they might want something at the same time. So, I have learned how to keep fueling my passion for cooking and entertaining by creating easy, quick and delicious recipes and also cooking with my kids. The is planning your recipe and ingredients, so your time in the kitchen is not long. {…}

The Golden Globes decor trend

It was a beautiful night at the Golden Globes with many great nominations and some expected and unexpected winners. Congratulations to all! I’m sure everyone there had as much fun as we had watching it. Im sure most you were focused on the actors and the winners, but I was also focused on the decor. I love how they kept the gold in every touch. Do you think gold will now be the new color trend for decor? And do you think we will see the same gold decor at the Oscars as well?  Personally, I do hope so as I love gold, and how it makes any room elegant, sparkle and gives a touch of glamour to each piece. Gold is great color to use for decor and as a compliment with other colors. Look at these beautiful set ups where the gold dazzles when mixed with soft pink, teal and purple.
